Balancing Electrolytes: My Morning Ritual
Every morning, I consume either potassium chloride or gluconate to balance my electrolytes and flush out excess sodium. Sodium is a major culprit in water retention, which can make your face look puffier than it actually is. By ensuring I have enough potassium, my body naturally eliminates excess sodium, reducing bloating.
Low-Carb Diet for Reduced Water Retention
I follow a low-carb diet to reduce glycogen storage. Why? Because for every gram of glycogen stored in your muscles and liver, your body holds onto approximately three grams of water. By limiting carbs, my body stores less glycogen, which leads to less water retention. As a result, my face looks leaner and more contoured.
The Hoodie Sauna Method
One of my favorite hacks for sweating out subcutaneous water (the layer of water stored under the skin) is the hoodie sauna method. I wear a hoodie while working out, which increases sweating and helps flush out excess water weight. It’s a simple but effective way to get rid of that “puffy” look.

Drinking caffeine-rich diuretics like black coffee or green tea is another game-changer. Caffeine stimulates the body to release excess sodium and water, further reducing facial bloating. Plus, it boosts metabolism, which can help with overall fat loss.

I avoid processed foods high in sodium, as they cause water retention and bloating. Instead, I focus on whole, nutrient-dense foods that support my body’s natural ability to regulate fluids.
